Hi! Nice to meet you
My name is Ivy. I was born and raised in Beijing, China. Geyang (pronounced guh-young) is my Chinese name, and my kindergarten teacher named me Ivy :)
I’m currently pursuing a dual degree in Engineering Psychology (HCI) and Graphic Design at Tufts University.

My journey
Growing up, I was always the art kid who never got bored of creating. I explored everything from oil painting and illustration to musical theatre and graphic design. I found the most joy and meaning in expressing myself through creativity and bringing new ideas to life.
In college, I dabbled in many places before finding product design: visual art, social psychology, mechanical engineering... Looking back, storytelling, empathy, and problem solving has been a common thread in every experience. I realized I wanted to create for diverse audiences and bigger communities, and design gives me that opportunity.
Product design has been a transformative avenue through which I connect my creative expression with real-world problem solving through tech. I always aim to design accessible and intuitive experiences that bring joy and positive social impacts. My background in Engineering Psychology and Graphic Design enable me to understand human needs while crafting unique visual experiences.
